Some characteristics of Anglo-Saxon America are:

1.   It is geographically located in the North American region and in different

Caribbean islands, with the exception of British Guiana which is in South America.


2.   The official language of their countries is English, although in some countries there are also other languages in their territory, with greater or lesser official recognition, such as French, Spanish, Creole, among others.


3.   It is formed by a variety of ethnic groups, such as mestizos, African

Americans, Creoles, Orientals, among others. These groups emerged during the colonizing period, with the arrival of slaves and then with the constant waves of immigrants from different parts of the world.




4.   Its majority religion is Protestant Christian in its different churches, such as

Anglican, Lutheran, Adventist, among others. Catholicism and, to a lesser extent, other religions, such as Africans, are also present.


5.   It presents different degrees of economic development. Countries such as the United States and Canada have a high degree of industrialization and an important participation in the world economy, while other Anglo-Saxon

countries have an economy similar to that of Latin America, dependent on tourism and primary activities.

  Anglo-Saxon America, Anglo-America or English America (Anglo- America in English) is the term commonly used to designate  Canada and the United States (both former British colonies) as well as countries where the official or majority language is English, and which is used in opposition to Latin America. The term is not entirely accurate because large territories that integrate it such as California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Florida, Louisiana and part of   Canada were French or Spanish colonies, and are not, therefore, of Anglo- Saxon origin. In fact, in Quebec French is the only official language, in addition to that spoken by the majority of the population, and in other regions there are Latin languages in co-official status with English. In addition, the term "Latin" refers to all Romance languages, while "Anglo-Saxon" only refers to the English language, so for parallelism one should speak of "Anglo-Saxon" vers...

DEMOGRAPHIC ORIGINS OF ANGLO- SAXON AMERICA

  Because these are former colonies, the exploitation of foreign slaves in previous centuries and the high percentage of immigrants, there are different ethnic groups. This variety in some cases has been harmed by racism. Mestizos: The mestizos are the descendants of the mixture between European and indigenous creoles. Belize has a majority mestizo population, but they are also present in the United States and Canada. Creoles: Caucasian population, descended from European colonizers. African Americans: The presence of African descendants throughout AngloSaxon America, including the United States and Canada, is important. The countries with the majority African-American population are mainly in the Lesser Antilles, but they are also the Bahamas, Jamaica and Guyana. Eastern: Immigrants from the Far East (China, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, etc.) and the Middle East (Arabia, Turkey, Israel) mostly arrived in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

  What is Anglo-Saxon culture? Old English or Anglo-Saxon (Englis ċ in its own name) is an early form of the English language spoken in much of what is now England and in southern Scotland between about 425 and 1125. It is also called Anglo-Saxon to the Germanic peoples who invaded English territory in the fifth century. The language spoken by those who were part of these cultures is also called Anglo-Saxon. The ancient Anglo-Saxons, thus, were the Germanic communities that advanced through eastern and southern Britain between the beginning of the fifth century and 1066, when the Norman Conquest took place. Their language, known as Anglo-Saxon or Old English, was imposed in England and regions of Scotland in that period. These communities began their migration to Britain between 400 and 600, and did so from Holland, southern Scandinavia and northern Germany.
